  1. Ah right, I read it that you had to change the sensor each time the pads were changed. Thanks for your continued help Mike, it's much appreciated. This is going to be the nicest car I've owned and probably most complicated.
  2. Thank god for insurance, but the irritating thing is your premium may rise due to claiming for this, which isn't fair. Do you have any idea who the perpetrator is?
  3. Thanks for replying Mike. I was just unsure, as I've only ever changed brakes on a Fiesta and C2. I understand that I will have to change the wear sensor too, is that correct? Is that something that's difficult to do?
  4. Won't a tyre fitter plug a run flat? I'm sure I've heard this being done before.
  5. Keep your eye out on eBuyer. I receive their daily offers email. They usually run a number of items on special offer every 24 hours. I noticed the other day they had a 2 camera system plus receiver with 500GB HDD for about £100. My next door neighbour had some issues recently and our drives are parallel to one another and we've been in conversation as to whether we get some cameras to cover each of our drives. I may consider it more once I have my 320D. I do feel for you though, a previous partner of my sister had his car paint strippered by an ex-partner of his and it isn't a nice thing to see or have done to you. Hope you get it sorted and catch the culprit.
  6. Hi all, I'm due to take ownership of a 2009 320D M sport coupe next week, it currently belongs to my partners father, who's had it in storage for the last year due to emigrating. He's told me the rear brake pads are due in around 3000 miles, but I've changed these on cars before, but wasn't sure if it's something I could do myself on the 320. If anyone has done this, I would appreciate your input as I know BMW wants around £150-£200 but the parts are only a fraction of that price. Many thanks, Taz
  7. Thanks for the comments guys, I really appreciate it. I can't wait to get my hands on it now.
  8. Completed for you Lizzy! Good luck in you final few months at Uni and with your dissertation, I know that feeling!
  9. Thanks for replying Bruce, really appreciate your response. I love the colour of your 320 btw, it's gorgeous. I can't recall my partners Dad ever having any engine problems and just before Christmas it went to BMW and had a major service done, so I guess any timing chain issues would have been pointed out by BMW? The car has been sat in storage for some time though as my partners parents emigrated about 18 months ago, so it's been in and out of storage. It has had all it's services done when it's been in use, so there's no problems there. I just wondered what the engines were like on these cars. I've never owned a BMW, but know most German cars are built to last as long as they're looked after, which this one has been. With regards to the resetting of the computer, is there a machine you can buy that reads fault codes and that will clear the service computer?
  10. You could always have a look on the Wheel Whores forum - They have a classified's page with wheels from all over the world. You might find what you're looking for on there.
  11. I thought that if your car came from the factory with run flats and no spare that it's an MOT failure if you have anything other than run flats on the car.
  12. There's no manual for a 2009 320D Coupe. Can anyone shed any light?
  13. Hi, I have recently sold my Citroen C2 Code and at the end of May I should be getting my hands on a E92 320D Coupe M Sport. It's a 2009 model with 60,000 miles on the clocks. It's been fully serviced at the BMW dealer it was bought from. I've never owned a BMW or a car like this, it's my first foray into the world of prestige cars. I just wanted to know more about the engines in this particular model. Are they reliable? It's actually my partners Dad's car and he's owned it almost from new and has never had any problems with it. I just want to make sure it's going to be a good investment. Is there anything I need to look out for with a car this age/mileage. One other thing - the rear brake pads are due a change in a few thousand miles. I have done brakes before on my own cars, is it possible to do it on BMW's and reset the computer to tell it they've been done or is that a BMW job? Many thanks!
  14. Have you tried asking a company like Newreg as to what they would offer you? That would then give you at figure to go from if you were to sell it privately.
  15. Hi James, So it isn't a schedule as such? For example, my current car a Citroen C2 is 20,000 or two years and has a major service after 72,000 or 6 years.
  16. What are the service intervals for the 1 series and what should it have had done on any service it's had up to now?
  17. It's a 2010 118D M Sport with 31,000 on the clock.
  18. Hi, I'm new to the forum and when joining I hoped that I'd be able to get some buying information from the community. I have never owned a BMW, so this will be my first. I have been looking at both 118D and 120D M Sports and have decided to go for a 118D. Having never owned one, I don't really know what to look. I would really appreciate it if someone or a number of you would be able to point out what to look for when looking at a 1 series. I am going to look at one at a garage this coming weekend, with a hope to buying it if all goes well. Many thanks in advance.
  19. Hi, My names Taz and I'm new to the forum. I don't currently own a BMW, but hope to in the very near future. I hope to find out a lot about the model I'm looking at buying whilst here and look forward to using the forum :)
