ok just read in the manual for the e46 "the system is only actice during cold starts (up to 33c coolant tem) and only operates for 2 minutes" so should be ok1 point

i think the item that goes there is called secondary air pump or something like that , is function is to get the catalytic converters up to operating temperature faster on start up1 point
