Hey I'm new to the bmw side so I'm looking for some advice on power/tourque gains , Iv got a e39 4.4 v8 on 107 thow miles with with custom exhaust system and the air filter is ... Well huge to say the least , I was told bout swirl flaps on the intake? If I was to remove would i gain anything with a few more mods and a remap or would this caurse damage to the engine in any way ? And can u blank them ?would like to super charge it in the future or twin turbo as i know u get the most gains from them but looking for little cheap bits to do to for now , unless I turn jap again so any advice would b nice , cheers guys

    Only Diesel runners are subject to Swirl-flaps, don't worry about your V8

    Hey cheers bud , oh that's ok then lol some times I wish a had the diesel lol , oh poo haha maybe a few more breather mods and bits and bobs with a remap to take out the flat spots and a bit Betta aground not looking for massive gains ATM , cheers for that daz

    is it just a cat back system or full exhaust system?

    Maybe worth doing a de-cat?

    Also ensuring there is a decent cold air feed going to the huge filter you have......

    As mentioned a good custom remap shoule iron out the flat spots and increase torque too.

    Failing that not much more to be had in terms of 'cheap mods' on a N/A car.
