Newbie With Central Locking Issue

hiya i have just treated myself to an 2001 e46 soft top and am loving it but sometimes it wont open or lock with the central locking button,i have 2 keys and its the same it only works 70% of the time,it opens and locks fine with the key but when your trying to look cool in your new drop top BM you dont wanna be using your key lol,any ideas?

    yea sounds like the battery in the key is knackered to me....it should charge every time its put into the ignition.take it to bmw and get a new one.i think the keys are sealed so its buy a new key time although there is a video on youtube about cutting the key open and replacing the battery yourself

    Problem with Cabs and remote locking is the "Full-closure" as it cannot distinguish whether the window(s) are closed !!

    Try "Holding" the button (lock or unlock) for 5 secs, what reaction do you get?
