I Should Really Get Motivated (Advuce Needed On Some Tasks)

Featured Replies

I have just had my 320D a few weeks but havent had time to use it or even look at it, there are a few jobs i need to do before i get my foot to the floor.

Im looking for info on where to get the bits at the best prices and if I can do it myself or chuck money away at a garage.

This is my first german car, so no idea who sells the best priced parts.

Swirl Flaps : Im looking for these to vanish before they vanish into the engine.

Wheres the best place to buy them? Can i do the job myself? Do you need any special tools? How long should it take to do?

Front / Rear Discs

Where the best place for some decent discs and pad? Do you need any special tools to remove the calipers etc?

Clutch Thrust Bearing

Mine has a bit of a whine, not sure whether to tackle it or wait till the clutch starts to slip and renew both at the same time?

Im sure i will find lots of other things to do with it as time goes on, including a full clean up inside and out :)

Just looked on ebay and there are 22mm and 32mm swirl flap blanks, do i need to take it apart first or is there another way of knowing what size i require?

phil the man you need to talk to about swirl flaps is gav.i think he did his himself.he should be about later.they are all in milton keynes

i changed my front discs and pads on mine.its really easy just remember when you take the calipers off tie them up so they dont put stress on the brake pipes.i think the only specialist tool would be an adjustable torque wrench...oh and a 7mm allan key

i bought my brake bits from sabre autospares for about 60 quid i think
