I am after some feed back to see if my car has a fault, i have only had the car 2 months, i have to drop right through the gears to get up hills, to a stage that i have to go to first sometimes, the power drops off easily, no lights come on as a warning, no noises, and no smoke from the exhaust..... is this coomon with this model any advice will be great appreiciated.

Could be a breather system fault of MAF or summit like that ????

Dave could be right.. wont be fuel.. it would splutter, or compression

Breath issues would cause that

Has it been serviced?

Does it matter if its hot or cold?

Steve asked quite an important question. Has it been serviced recently? She's over 10 years old now so servicing is getting more and more important now as time goes on. A poorly serviced car WILL give you the results your having now.

It could be alot of different things. The engine under your bonnet isn't my fav engine because of it's lack of power under the right foot but you are right to suspect something as you shoudlnt need 1st to go up a hill in a BMW.

After we know it's service history then we can start getting our diagnostic hats on mate.
