Hello Everyone!!! :D

Recently bought my first ever BMW! a E36 328i Automatic coupe......

B) Love the way it look's, Handles & Rides B)

BUT.... :unsure:

I have problems :(

Well not me, The car.... :blink:

Firstly the exhaust, plumes of white smoke until hot n driven hard,

there's a strange knocking from front of engine (like someone's banging to get out :wacko: )

:angry: Under hard acceleration the engine just doesnt perform as it should & gearbox seem's as responsive as a comatosed turtle :angry:

Also after putting my foot down the engine wants to sleep (cuts out) <_<

And to add another spanner... the alarm keeps sounding and battery dying

(I think maybe something is draining battery which eventually causes alarm to sound)

In all honesty if it was me with all these problems I would have pulled the trigger by now!!!

If anyone can help with one or all the above it would be greatly appreciated

Oh heck this all sounds abit serious,lots of causes but sounds like the heads cracked or something equally serious.or a block oil breather.

:unsure: Hope it's just a blocked breather, Gulp!! Im in oxfordshire

Dont fancy pulling appart that monster of a block :mellow:

Just buy another engine if its duff

Replaced CAT for MOT....... Stopped white smoke problem £130. :D

Changed Spark Plugs, Found a loose plug covered in oil....... Fixed engine problems £18.98 :D

Strangely that seems to have sorted problems with gear box too!!!! :rolleyes:

Now fingers crossed if i change the battery that will sort out its problems too (hoping its a dodgy cell)

OH btw, It goes like stink now too!!! B)

And who says BMW's are expensive to repair!!!!

Most likely was, had some oil around it on removal so will replace rocker cover gasket just incase, it's only £6 so would be rude not too :-)
