Hi Guys,

Since i bought my 328 it has used oil.. not much if you drive it normally more if you give it a good thrashin.. I have looked every where and there is no oil stains or patches.

There is no smoke at the back so it cant really be burning it off.

The only thing i can think ov is when i launch it, or its under harsh breaking, its coming out of the cap..

What do u think

I very very much doubt it due to how old it is, but does yours have a Nikasil engine fitted?

If it aint leaking it, its burning it

I don't think the M52 had nikasil liners.

Maybe the engine-breathing needs a good clean out!

Early m52 engines did have this problem as that’s what killed the 2.5 lump in my e39 when it was 3 months old, however BMW knew a problem was there and was pretty quick to recall!not many iffy engines are left Dabsy Breather system is a good shout!

Thanks Ian, mainly affects V8 and V12 although there is a little "Tell-Tale" if it is a nikasil unit...
