Featured Replies

hi my name is brian, i have a 97 525tds e39 and at the moment im havein a problem with it, and hope some one has any idea as to what it could be. here goes, most of the times when i accelerate there is no power as if there is no boost and then after a while along while it will suddenly kick in but not all the time. the other problem is when i turn the engine off there is a sound of a fan running behind the clock/radio area which is draining the battery of power. can any one help me pls.

thanks brian

Hiya Brian...

The EGR valve can cause these power symptoms, it's a general issue on all diesels... You have two options...

1 - Remove it and clean it with a high-alcohol content fluid such as Isopropyl (Not Tennents Super Strength).

2 - Remove it and use blanking plates.

Do you have any other symptoms such as Excessive exhaust smoke?
