Hi

I hav a 2005 x5 3.0 d. I hav the issue of judder under braking I have changed the front and rear pads and disc, but still feels like a drill under braking. Also the low beam indicator on the dash has arisen is there any cheaper way to replace the bulb rather than raking it to dealership. Ps I am useless wit a spanner

Hi mate welcome to the club

The judder can be caused by front sway arm bushes if car has done over 85000 miles it's best to have them all looked at not a cheap job to do the lot front and back but worth it as all bushes are there to protect more expensive parts

As for bulb halfords only charge about £10 to fit new bulbs

Thanks prestige, Unfortunately halfords dont change the bulbs, well they couldn't change the indicators when I asked a month or so ago

To change the indicators you have to take the light unit out

It's a bit tight but head light bulbs can be changed with lights in place however to remove light units is quite easy

1. Unclip trim under light

2. With bonnet open look at top of lights there are four fixings holding lights in two at top two at bottom

3. Undo all four

4. Pull light out slowly being careful not to over stretch any wires

5. Remove rubber cover from back of bulb

6. Replace bulb and put it all back as you found it

Braking issue... Just to add - If the suspension has bee eliminated as the fault then suspect the ABS sensor/disc fins, as when these are fouled, it can cause these symptoms.

But as mentioned before, check front suspension thoroughly !!
