It as got 18" wheels on would larger wheel cause the same problem?

Hi welcome to the forum.

Does it only do it under hard acceleration?

ASC = Automatic Stability Control = Traction Control

If the light flickers on/off it means (or is meant to mean) that one or both of the rear wheels are spinning or have no traction. It can also mean that you have the wrong wheel and tyre combo on the rear axle.If they are under sized for the axle the ASC unit thinks theyre spinning or have no traction so cuts the power to that wheel. Hope that helps :)

It works in conjuction with the ABS, the sensors AND the fins on the inside of the Discs too... A common fault with all cars that employ this system is when these fins get rusty or debris is impeding them - to solve this we usually lightly "Copper-brush" the fins and clean the sensors ! Works most of the time (unless, of course, a sensor or more has failed)
