Hi guy's

I've been on the phone this evening to somone who's selling an e36 cabby which I may look at buying from him. However when I was talking to him on the phone he was giving me all the info about the car etc, and then said " It's absolutely mint, no rust or anything, the engine is fine, no problems etc just may need to look out for overheating which is a common problem with these cars"

Is this true? is this a common issue? is there anything that can be done to prevent overheating etc?

If anyone could help I would be most grateful

Many Thanks!

Steve

Hey bud,

I would not say it is a 'common' problem, no. Its common with all cars as it happens to be the sign of many different things that are failing. You don't drive down the road, see its overheating and go... "ahhh thats okay because it's an E36"

The E36 being SOOOO common, if your being preped for an overheating problem before you be the damn thing, I would probably avoid it all together. You can pick up one in just as good nick somewhere else mate.

We could be here all day and throw at you every way to check and fix an overheating problem but, If you can avoid it all together, do that :)

HTH,

when you view it. leave it running and DO NOT drive it. Leave it for a good 20 mins and watch for the needle to tip over 90degrees. If it those... walk away

IF it does, Could be anything easy like viscous coupling change too difficult head probs :)
