Gonna change the oil in the diff to see if it gets rid of this noise I get and want to know which diff oil to use, can I use any as long as its decent or does it have to be a special type/grade? mines a 2001 320d touring pre-facelift.

    Diff oil is generally much thicker than engine/gearbox oils, 75w90 seems to be the mark !

    Try Opie Oils as they make regular visits and offers to BMWOC members !!
