Anyone know of an alternative source for a Y-cable (AV jack & USB one end, iPhone connector on the other) for connecting an iPhone 3GS to my 123d M Sport? I've tried the BMW one and I know it works but I can't bring myself to part with the £42 asking price. I've had a good root around e-Bay & Amazon but haven't spotted anything yet. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance...

First of all welcome to the club.

To be honest I paid 40 notes for a FM transmitter which was supposed to be good, turned out crap!!

So £42 for a lead is a good deal in my opinion.

I dont think there is any other options, i've looked into leads and thats around the price I found...

The lead you tried, was it in place of the CD changer?

I can honestly say there is no sort of cable that will do this in one go and no third party cables, you will find the BMW cable holds a small converter box half way along to sort the signals out and thats what your paying the £42 for.

you need the bmw one

Thanks Gav & Greeney - it's off to the dealership then...

(Gav - yes - no CD changer on my car)

I used to manage an apple store and know for a fact how much of a nightmare sourcing the cable is as customers asked me every single day lol, can only get them OEM I tried everywhere to get one but had to refer back to dealerships in the end.
