Recently bought a 2000 Z3 the speakers were not working properly so i removed the cd/radio which had been fitted by the previous owner. the block connection had been removed and the wires had push connectors fitted. I've got a new radio/cd and i have the color codes on the cables as to what speaker they go to, but i have no idea which colors are for which speaker on the car loom Can anybody help!!!!!

So the old loom block was removed and you are left with a bunch of wires?

Are any of the wires colored? Or markings

How many speakers?

All the wires are colour coded and i've checked the color of the wires at the speaker end and they do not match the cables at the radio end, so i presume that somewhere it all changes and this is what is stopping me from matching the speakers up. It is a 4 speaker set up with additional tweeters in the doors. My new radio only has 8 cables suitable for a4 speaker system unless i can link into the tweeters.

ouch thats gonna suck getting those right.

unless there is a pattern to the colours and then test the sound by connecting each wire.

If the current speaks don't have tweeters in them and are external then you will need to have a 12 wire otherwise it will sound awful. Tweeters are important.

Best way would be to rewire new speakers with tweeters already in them. MB Quart speakers sound fantastic IMO.
