X1 Petrol or Diesel

Featured Replies

Looking to change to an X1 but not sure wether to go for the diesel 1.8D or 2.0D OR the 1.8i petrol. Just interested in knowing people's thoughts on economy, Sdrive v XDrive in winter. Live in the North of England so occasional snow, my 1 series with snow tyres manages the snow with no issues, would an Sdrive be the same, thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Forum

S drive is 2 wheel drive X drive 4 wheel drive a neighbour has a Diesel X1 she loves it gives an average around town in the high 40's into the 50's on a trip. From what I read there is little difference between S and X drive Petrol at high 30's

As you have winter tyres and have survived so far 😅 and 2 wheel drive is what your used to 4 wheel drive gives more security and drive but it isn't infallible. As always the big Nut holding the steering wheel that is the key component 🤣

What ever your choice I hope you enjoy it

I opted for the S Drive diesel, fuel economy from what I’ve driven so far is very good, only had mine for 10 days, moved over from an Audi.
