Just wanting to raise awareness for this car, I travelled from Newcastle to Dundee to purchase this car yesterday. Once we had a look at the car it was evident that the drivers side front and rear has had non-disclosed repairs. The garage played dumb to this and said the managers were now involved etc but it has been listed again this morning. almost a 400 mile round trip and an expense of over £200 for nothing, also awaiting my £100 reservation fee.

- The front registration plate had 2 out of 4 screws in it.
- black strip below the registration plate on the driver side had white paint on it (poorly masked off when repaired)
- registration plate holder had white overspray.
- black duct on the driver's side also had areas of white paint.
- BMW badge on the bonnet had white paint on it.
- Inside the bonnet, the bonnet seal had white paint on it.
- Some foam on the inside of the windscreen below the heads-up display (drivers side) hanging out.
- HUD was a bit intermittent for showing up.
- Driver's side headlight has been opened and re-sealed, not factory sealant (compared to passenger side)
- The black diffuser also had an area of white paint on it and a small scuff.
- Passenger side rear diffuser there was an area with excessive black paint and orange peel.
- White paint on the boot seal.
- driver side exhaust was sticking out 20mm+ passed the bumper.
- Alloy wheels are all black but usually the alloys that are on, are part black with machined faces
- driver's side wheel arch, behind the spring you could see the white chassis which looked like it had a spray of oil on it (potentially a burst shock absorber)

I had a similar experience with bmw dealership. …

bought an e90 m sport for a large amount.

it failed to start after a month, it went back in and they found it had been crashed and repaired, only found it due to the crushed wiring loom which is why the car stopped working.
I handed it back to them and walked away…. Unfortunately I had financed it through my company and I didn’t check the finance had been void…. I found out that bmw finance didn’t know I had returned the car and they persued me through my closed business…sued me without contact and I was declared bankrupt by a court in Nottingham. … I live in Yorkshire…. I only found out when I went to move house and failed a credit check!
nearly lost the house and my new family stressed.
absolute nightmare and bmw didn’t even reply to me. ….

I'm sorry to hear this, I cant even imagine the stress that would put you and the family under.

It's wrong and it shouldn't be allowed to continue, it seems garages can walk away scott free doing this. From a buying point of view it doesn't look like you have much security only "luck" that a car is genuine from the previous owners.

I am currently speaking with the BMW group, I have reported this to trading standards also (uk ecc) I hope somebody see's the forum and see's the car for what it is.
