2025 x5 side steps
Morning Jefferey Welcome to the Forum There are no lowering side steps that I am aware of for any of the X models Maybe one of the companies who adapt cars for the disabled may have something but I doubt it will be an easy fix Dave -

2025 x5 side steps
My wife is short and needs side steps to get in. I checked with the dealer and I've looked for after market. The only ones avaliable extend the factory panel out and they don't lower the sill. I ordered the car and the factory side steps only extend the sill not not lower it. Has anyone else found anything? -

V111 SCO Raising Awareness
I had a similar experience with bmw dealership. … bought an e90 m sport for a large amount. it failed to start after a month, it went back in and they found it had been crashed and repaired, only found it due to the crushed wiring loom which is why the car stopped working. I handed it back to them and walked away…. Unfortunately I had financed it through my company and I didn’t check the finance had been void…. I found out that bmw finance didn’t know I had returned the car and they persued me through my closed business…sued me without contact and I was declared bankrupt by a court in Nottingham. … I live in Yorkshire…. I only found out when I went to move house and failed a credit check! nearly lost the house and my new family stressed. absolute nightmare and bmw didn’t even reply to me. …. -

V111 SCO Raising Awareness
Just wanting to raise awareness for this car, I travelled from Newcastle to Dundee to purchase this car yesterday. Once we had a look at the car it was evident that the drivers side front and rear has had non-disclosed repairs. The garage played dumb to this and said the managers were now involved etc but it has been listed again this morning. almost a 400 mile round trip and an expense of over £200 for nothing, also awaiting my £100 reservation fee. - The front registration plate had 2 out of 4 screws in it. - black strip below the registration plate on the driver side had white paint on it (poorly masked off when repaired) - registration plate holder had white overspray. - black duct on the driver's side also had areas of white paint. - BMW badge on the bonnet had white paint on it. - Inside the bonnet, the bonnet seal had white paint on it. - Some foam on the inside of the windscreen below the heads-up display (drivers side) hanging out. - HUD was a bit intermittent for showing up. - Driver's side headlight has been opened and re-sealed, not factory sealant (compared to passenger side) - The black diffuser also had an area of white paint on it and a small scuff. - Passenger side rear diffuser there was an area with excessive black paint and orange peel. - White paint on the boot seal. - driver side exhaust was sticking out 20mm+ passed the bumper. - Alloy wheels are all black but usually the alloys that are on, are part black with machined faces - driver's side wheel arch, behind the spring you could see the white chassis which looked like it had a spray of oil on it (potentially a burst shock absorber) https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/2...2-3fa4f9f467ce -

Drivetrain and Battery Issue 2021 X5
Hi David S, apologies for late reply only just seen your post. Yep finally sorted the problem but took a long time to resolve, in fact didn’t finally resolve it until the end of Feb. BMW offered no help whatsoever other than telling me to take it to a main dealer and depending on what they find they might offer some assistance…. and clearly having resolved it, it’s demonstrated to be a BMW quality issue. I just wasn’t prepared to take it to a dealer with their labour rates in the hope that BMW might make a contribution. To finally sort the problem, I had to replace the Alternator/Generator/Starter combined component which was defective. Replacement cost at my local independent was just shy of £2k parts and labour. Problem was to get to that point I had to eliminate the 48v battery being defective. Cost of that was probably going be about £1200 plus fitting, pretty fiddly as it’s connected to the coolant system. I managed to find one on eBay for £200 off a pretty new low mileage X5 (so was pretty confident it would be ok) and had it fitted at my independent. No change to the problem, leaving it down to the generator/alternator/starter. Did think about getting one of those from eBay but decided against it. Having replaced the parts, the car is like new and drove as it always did! in the period trying to resolve the problem, the issues did get worse. The heated rear view window, heated seats and heated mirrors stopped working (ok now, but not great in the winter….) and the car sounded like a ‘bag of spanner’s’ at idle, well I say idle, it was ‘racing’ rather than idling. I also ensured I kept the normal battery fully topped up as I did experience a complete electrical shutdown whilst out one day as the battery wasn’t being charged correctly due to the generator issue. Thought it was one of the usual shut down episodes, but instead of being a simple ‘push the start button’ fixes, the whole car was dead, luckily I had managed to cruise into a laybye. When my independent rang bmw parts, they identified that they were getting a lot of enquiries each week for the generator component, so clearly a big problem for BMW.!! Which of course BMW denied when I told them. Hope this helps and you get it sorted, it might not be the same issue as mine, but I bet it is! My independent has had an X3 in with the same problem since he did mine. Bit of a heads up, I did struggle to find garages willing to take on the repairs (even so called BMW specialists) so might need a bit of looking for. If you’re pretty handy, it’s probably something you could do yourself but it’s pretty fiddly and takes a bit of time I understand. Not sure where you’re based, but I still have my original battery if you wanted to eliminate the battery. If you want any further info just let me know. It’s something BMW need to wake up to because I can see there being a lot of very unhappy owners around!! Cheers
