28 thermal sensor for oil level defect

Hello all.

I have a failure code 28 on my 735 1996 E38 and I am not sure what to replace. The car does not have a thermal sensor on the oil filter like the newer models have, there is no fault on the dash, no low level warrning, and the engine runs without any issues.

Does enyone know what the code 28 is related to on the 12/1997 E38?
