I'm a new member.

I have an E91 330D Sport Touring (2009)  with active cruise control which I bought new.

The car is covered by BMW Insured Warranty. My Main Dealer cannot source a new part (ACC Radar Sensor 66 316777883) as BMW no longer make the Part.

Can anyone help me find a new or used part from a reputable supplier ?

Thank you in advance for any help/advice you can give ....

Hi David

Welcome to the Forum

How frustrating can they not adapt a sensor from a newer model they must still be able to get them as they still sell ACC systems?? You can check www.realoem.com if you are not aware put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will bring up your model then check the Distance systems section. If you double click the part number it will give any alternate part numbers that can be used and the models they were used in.

Not sure who makes the sensor if you can find out the manufacturers may help. There is a register of BMW Dismantlers I have used Quarry Motors several times for hard to source parts with great success

Finally there are companies such as ECU Testing and Cartronix who have been able to bring stuff back to life for me in the past.

Good Luck with the Hunt I hope this is of use

THANK YOU so much for the advice. I tried  looking for alternative part numbers on   www.realoem.com    and entered all my details and was doing fine until It asked me for my credit card details s ("no charge will be made now , during the free trial period").  I didn't understand what I was signing up for.... so didn't go any further

I Googled BMW dismantlers which produced a list my wife and I trawled through without success, I'm afraid

I've contacted BMW Customer services who were very helpful and promised to search themselves to see if they could unearth the part.

I'll  try ECU Testing and Cartronics this afternoon, thank you.

The car is in very good shape (only 74,000 miles) , full service history from our local main dealers since new and new BMW parts fitted under the BMW Insured Warranty over the years.

We are worried about how a lack of Cruise Control would affect the price if we were to sell it .....
