Hi, I recently bought 2015 1 series from a dealership after getting it checked out by BMW. The vehicle health check was fine so I had only opted in for a complimentary 1 month warranty but after a month I started getting a lot of faults. Cruise control failure, Limiter, drivetrain and low oil pressure. Cruise control and limiter works fine as i have tested it myself on the motorway and just comes and goes on the dash. Low oil pressure comes on usually first thing in the morning after a cold start but not every time. It goes away once I switch off the engine and on again. Same with drivetrain but the car goes into limp mode once it comes on and when I turn off the engine and on again, it goes away and drives normal.
I took it back to BMW for another health check and this time they quoted me £2k and did not guarantee that the problem would be fixed as it could be anything. I was quite surprised as all this happened in a month’s gap and obviously after my warranty had expired. I went to a local garage last week and had major service done and changed timing chain cover as he reckoned that was the problem. The faults still come on occasionally but drives normal after i restart the engine.
any suggestions/ help or recommendation for a specialist garage around Staffordshire area is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Morning John

Welcome to the Forum

As the is a recent purchase check your position under the sale of goods act and put pressure on the supplying Dealer.

Or Google BMW Specialists there is a Register so you should find one close to you. Generally they are around half the cost of BMW, most are BMW Technicians who have gone solo.

Good Luck

Dave
