Hi new on here and Z3 new to us . A couple of snagging faults!

Can any suggest why the tachometer does not operate.  I've done a dial sweep all gauges operate. But no tachometer or temp gauge reading.  Not over heated and we have heat inside. I know where the sensor fir temp is located but no idea where tachometer is fed from. Could be poor connection of back of console  but any suggestions will be appreciated.  Thanks Eugene

Morning Eugene

Welcome to the Forum

The Tachometer will get it's signal from the DME through I believe the EWS then to the Instrument cluster. The instrument Cluster (right rear) a White 26 pin connector (X16) pin 20 a Black wire The wire will come from the EWS a Yellow 15 pin connector (X1659) pin 12 Black wire

So if you get a signal on that wire at the connector behind the cluster then there is an issue with the cluster (dry joint or corrosion at the connector)

Hope this is of use

Dave

Thanks Dave, I'll try to get to the back of the cluster and disconnected and reconnect and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks again for your time .
