Hi all, I am looking to upgrade my screen to apple car play, panoramic.  I’m after any advice on the best unit to buy for best functionality with the BMW and CarPlay functions, I don’t want to buy the wrong thing, any help is appreciated!  Thanks.

After a lot of research I fitted an upgrade screen made by Erisin into my X5 E70. I brought from one of the well known auction sites came with Android Auto and Carplay built in, plus a wide range of Sat Nav and other apps. The unit was straight forward to fit with some excellent "how to" videos on line, it looks modern retains all the OEM CIC functions while adding a lot more. My X5 E53 has a Dynavin unit fitted because it looks OEM

There are several manufactures with units out there do the research and enjoy your choice

I purchased an Erisin unit from Amazon, brand new from an authorized dealer, NBT unit which they said would be compatible with my car (F30 2018 330e).  When my audio specialist fitted it, the android screens worked fine, but the unit would not connect to the BMW system, got an error message stating, no signal.  Also, no sound as no AUX port.  He said the unit supports NBT but not NBT EVO 6 which is what my car is.

Does anyone know if there are any extra bits needed to make this product work or if its just the wrong unit.  Unit purchased as follows:

If not, what's the solution to upgrade my NBT EVO 6 to car play/android.

Have you tried Erisin Customer Service ? I thought all the NBT systems were rated/identified by the 6 pin LVDS plug. When the installers put the system in did they move the Fibre Optic connection ? Just trying to think why it isn't connecting to the cars onboard system?

Hi Dave, yes I am in touch with Erisin Customer services but they are suggesting obvious things that my installer has already tried, he did also move the fiber optic connection.

Not sure why it isn't connecting, its got to be a settings thing I guess unless its just not compatible with NBT EVO 6?  I am waiting for customer services to confirm if the unit is compatible with EVO 6 BMW software.
