Hi all,

I’m new to owning a BMW. I’ve just acquired a late 2019 plate X2 M Sport. It has the upgraded nav system I believe as it has the larger screen. I’ve done the deal with dealership but I wanted to upgrade to Apple CarPlay. Is it a simple thing for them to do as long as the head unit is the updated version with Wi-Fi antenna and/or the iDrive version is compatible? I neglected to request it during the sales as I was distracted by a personal issue at the time.

If I have all of the above as existing, is it as easy as getting a code as I’ve seen online?

I pick it up tomorrow.

    Welcome to the Forum

    If your car is Idrive 7 (I beleive it should be) try this

    • 1. Bluetooth has to be turned ON on your iPhone.
    • 2. In the iDrive 7 menu, press or navigate to COM – Mobile Devices – New Device – Phone calls and audio
    • 3. On your iPhone’s Bluetooth menu, select the BMW entry. ...
    • 4. Confirm that the PIN displayed on the iDrive 7 and iPhone match, then select YES.

    I am not sure if there are subscription charges I am android (had to use a wired connection first time) not apple but from what I have read it should be straight forward
