Put in a referb bm54 now radio not turning on can anyone help

Where did the refurbed unit come from are you sure it's OK 

If the unit is OK are the fuses OK check them all even the one under the Quad lock connector on the radio it's self.

If the BM54 and all it's fuses are OK it could be a fault with the FCM (Footwell Control Module) BMW and several specialists will tell you the only answer is a "New FCM" 

Not so a used FCM can be used but you will see a tamper dot by the mileage as the Mileage stored in the cars IKE and the new FCM wont match. Everything will work though.

If you invest in a copy of BMW 1.4.0 (about £30) or know someone with a copy the FCM can be reprogrammed (Many Specialists and BMW will tell you it can't be done) It takes longer to swap the units than it does to reprogram plus if you have your own copy you can run diagnostics whenever you wish and program functions in the car.
