X5 e53 key fob works but not opening doors can anyone suggest how to fix

When you say "the Key Fob works" what is happening ?

Is the Central Locking operating but door handle not opening the door?

Is this so on all the doors ?

Does the Tailgate unlock and open OK ?

To be sure you need a scan to identify the cause. Stu on here has a great post on the locking mechanism and Keys

Central locking works with key but not the key fob all doors and tailgate open with key

Have you tried re-syncing the key with the car or do you have another key ? There are "How too's" on the internet

The battery in the Key fob should charge while in the ignition but they do fail from time to time. Have you tried unlocking the tailgate using the button on the Fob ?

As everything works from the key worth checking the diversity antenna which is located in the rear spoiler sometimes they suffer from water ingress and corrosion.
