Rattling noise

Hi

Recently purchased a 2017 X1 diesel and having owned VW diesels for years am concerned about a rattling noise coming from the engine. Is the noise normal and am I just used to listening to VW’s for years? Doesn’t happen all the time mainly on tick over when cold and can’t hear it when accelerating. Have been to local garage who have checked it over and said it’s all fine and different cars sound differently. Just wondered if others have had the same issue?

    Welcome to the Forum

    Always difficult with noises/rattles unless they can be heard/compared. I am sure that there are many who have changed marques and heard noises they haven't heard before.

    For me it was easy after years of V8 Mercedes and BMW X5's my E70 is Diesel and it definitely sounds different 😁
