Cost of catalytic converters for 1998 840

I have been quoted £695 ea for 2 catalytic converters for my 840. I was expecting a figure of £500 for both.

Can anyone give me some advice please

    A quick look at www.realoem.com looks as though BMW would ask $1600.00 + for each Cat 

    I would search the Internet as I have seen 300 cell competition Cat's for sale at around £300 each did your price for £695 include fitting ? Often the OEM Cat has to be cut off and the replacement welded in place?
