Hi everyone, new to this forum but been a member of RRSport.co.uk for a while so familiar with how beneficial these places can be!

Picking up my F31 320d X Drive M Sport estate next week ( a mint 2017 example with ridiculously low miles of 5500) as new job commute requires me to now sell my much loved mint 3.6 tdv8 Range Rover Sport. Previously owned a 2006 M Sport 525d which was a fantastic car, bought it on 12k miles and ended selling it on 195k and it never, and I mean never let me down. Was still on original everything except brakes and tyres.

I'm going to be doing a lot of miles per year (30k) so was looking for some advice on what is recommended to keep the car going as well as my 525d, I always had it serviced yearly at an indi, dpf regens etc ( will never use a main dealer) - has the quality of car deteriorated since then and do you recommend I increase the service to 12 monthly rather than BMW recommended 24 monthly?

Was also thinking of getting a remap to gain a bit more power - would the engine cope with this? I'd be keeping it for 3 years so it will be a 100k miler by the time i swap it.

Welcome to the Forum

What a great find ENJOY

For a BMW Specialist Garage try https://the-bmw-specialist-register.com. you should be able to find one near you but as the old saying goes check them out talk to customers if you can.

All manufacturers have for some time touted extended service intervals based mainly on long life oils. However as an old engineer I don't trust extended period servicing a lot can go wrong in 24 months so I have a regime of oil and filters 6 monthly and I inspect all bushes tyres & wheels (inside and out) I have a diagnostic program BMW 1.4.0 on an old lap top so run a scan. One service is carried out by my local BMW Specialist to keep the book stamped and the interim by me.

My Brother inlaw has a 530d touring (his 3rd) he commutes into Germany for work so all have inter galactic mileages he used RS ECU Tuning on all 3 it adds around 40hp and a shed load of torque with very little effect on MPG or reliability so win win.

Good Luck with the new motor

Thanks for the response Dave - I thought the 24 month intervals were optimistic so I'll be keeping up with a 12 month schedule, especially with the miles I'll be doing.

Tried the link however when I enter my postcode the page just keeps searching for a garage, will try late but was hoping to get some more feedback from those located in Kent and where they go, lets see if anyone else responds 🙂 Come on guys!!
