I currently own an X5 3.0d E70 which I have had remapped. 

Is there any exhaust mods I can do that will improve the exhaust tone to make it sound better. 

I've looked at the sound boosters but they're over a grand. 

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

    My brother inlaw had a Stainless system on his second 530d which was remapped to around 300hp all I can remember is the cost of the system was around £1500, he had it fitted in Southend I think and that was about 5 years ago. Sounded good though

    Apart from contacting the specialist exhaust fabricators and getting quotes I don't have any other suggestions

    Many thanks for the reply. 

    Quoted £700 for cat back stainless steel system. 

    Was seeing if there were any cheaper options.

    Yes Dave had it remapped by independent BMW garage. 

    Now pushing out just over 300 mark. 

    Goes great and better fuel economy when driven sensibly.
