E53 x5 couple of issues

I have just picked up a 54 plate x5 3.0d sport.

Nice motor but have found a couple of issues that I missed when test driving.

1st there is no sound from the driver side rear speaker

2nd the drivers door handle led does not work

Could anybody offer some advice on where to start to sort these out please

    Welcome to the Forum

    E53 speakers are flaky I am afraid the problem could be the speaker or the wiring the only way is whip the door card off and check the speaker. Either by testing or by a known working one, take care when removing the inner membrane that you dont tear it if you do make sure you repair it they are known source of leaks.

    The door handle LED (interior is often that it has been dislodged by someone who missed it when putting the door card back 

    Take a look at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin in the search box it will bring up your model, then search the sections for what you need. There are useful small exploded drawings so you can see where stuff goes (or is meant to)

    Also www.newtis.info this is a BMW technical information site BMW dealers use the same information.
