Having problems with my BMW 116D  - its got about 28,000 on the clock - not sure if that makes a difference! A couple of times when changing from 1st to 2nd, it loses power. There is no acceleration at all for about 8 seconds after changing into 2nd, and then it suddenly surges. There are no fault lights and nothing is showing on the computer system. nearly got wiped out on a roundabout the other day - Its now the 3rd time the garage have had it in, but cant find anything. Any advice please?

    Welcome to the Forum

    When you say "the Garage have had it "is that a BMW dealer or Specialist or and Independent garage? Without the correct software they will not see all the fault codes so will not see a problem, worse they may start throwing your money at the issue in an attempt to cure it.

    I would think that the car is still under BMW warranty (under 3 years and only 28k) so I would start there, with a BMW dealer don't be afraid to go to a different dealer there can be massive differences in their attitude.
