Hi New Poster here. Recently purchased a new 220i and so far love it and without doubt a M2 is a must in the future.

BMW are my only cars of choice and have been for the past 20 odd years or so but the 220i is the first auto version I have had.

Whilst in drive and on an incline I've noticed the vehicle rolls backwards dependant on the angle, spoken to the dealership and informed that it could be a gearbox issue, however BMW Assist told me it's right that the vehicle rolls backwards, which is rather concerning a/ that it rolls backwards and b/I'm getting two lots of conflicting information.

The vehicle is currently in the workshop but confused as to what exactly I'm being told is right or wrong.

    Hi Trigger...welcome to the Club

    Rolling back is an issue as far as I am concern, especially with a stop/start equipped vehicle or with an electric handbrake.

    It depends on how many revs on tickover as to whether the transmission is loaded enough to stop the creeping, otherwise it may just need a software update to change the settings.

    Let us know how you get on with this issue.

    How far does it roll back? You cant disable stop/start on any model post 2017.
