Hi just joined, today. Just bought 1991 525i Auto with professionally fitted auto gas conversion. So pleased with it, 155k but smooth as silk. Dark blue metallic with a grubby but comfy blue grey leather interior. Has anyone else got one. Also after a couple of niggley spares to complete interior. front cup holders and rear air vents, those in the arm rest for rear passengers.

      Hi Kevin Well looking at www.realoem.com it looks as though above the Propshaft you have a bracket to support the Handbrake cables item 6 at the front directly over the Prop and Item 12 to support the split of cables left and right I would start there it may just need replacing or short term a couple of cable ties applied Hope your up and around soon Dave

      Scraping sound under centre console on hard acceleration.

      Morning all, So my car started making a scraping sound under the centre console when accelerating hard, Ive found on another forum a video with the exact sound I’m experiencing. Turns out it’s due to the handbrake cable clips above the fuel tank breaking and the hand brake cables rub on the prop shaft. Has anyone got any experience with renewing these? Apparently the tank needs to be dropped. People have said that cable ties work well as a cheap alternative. I’d normally climb underneath, play and report my findings, but I’m recovering from an operation at the moment so cannot get underneath for a few weeks. 😕

      735i - heater element water thermostat - please help

      Hello all Does anyone know which is the cable that is connected to the thermostat heater element, the plug that is on the side of the thermostat housing. I was working in the car and removed the plug from the housing a few months ago and now I do not remember which of the two plugs, there are two identical plugs on flying leads close to each other, is the one that I should connect to the heater element. Many thanks
