118d motor g box and loom

i am building a custom car and would like to use a 118d running gear and loom . I have found a written of series 1( bent but all the oily bits are good  2007 . You may think this is a little odd but whats the point of spending a small fortune and not being able to drive it every day . so my question if i use the 118 wiring loom will i have a problem using different tail and head lights . i will use the BMW dash and aircon ( not sure where i will put the aircon ) do you think this is possible or will the ecu have a fit . Regards Andy . ( not easy to find a rear wheel drive that will give 50 to the gallon ) . Regards Andy

    Hmm interesting question - not 100% sure on that. Does the car have bulb failure detection at the moment?

    Just a random thought - if you do have problems couldn't you connect up a trailer socket and effectively use the feed for that to power universal type lights?

    Also, what type of custom car or what sort of thing are you building out of interest?
