Hi all, it's been a while but I'm back in a beamer, a mint 2003 E39 530D with 69,000 miles on the clock, just had it mot'd and although it passed i was advised about the front "banana" wishbones

Hopefully that makes sense to you guys and if so is there anyone that can recommend where to buy replacements and if it's a relatively easy job to change them

Hi, I recently did the same job on my E39 525d, its quite an in depth job really, there are several other items on the car that have to be removed or slackened off to allow access.

Providing you take your time and are relatively competent at wielding a spanner you should do fine. I replaced the bushes in mine as I have a press (and I'm a cheap skate) but you can buy the whole assembly if needed (ebay was my chosen supplier).

Realoem.com is a great tool to use and don't forget to look up the torque settings needed.
