E46 M3 Rear Silencer Problems

Hi,

New to the forum so forgive me if this is in the wrong place!

I've just fitted a heartbreaking £1250 worth of rear silencer and intermediate pipe to a customers E46 M3 due to the clamps corroding away and eventually breaking.

Due to the way the exhaust is made you cannot replace the clamps (clamps are put on the exhaust and then flanged over at factory).

I've taken the measurements of the new clamps prior to fitting the new exhaust to the car and was considering having modified clamps made so I can replace just the clamps rather than the rear silencer and intermediate pipe (I have many customers with the same problem on their E46 M3s, including my sons!) saving the customer bucket loads of money!

rather than having a small batch made, I was wondering if there would be any demand for such a thing on here?

Feedback would be great!

      2017 430d LED headlight beam adjustment for continental.

      Talked to my Brother Inlaw he is on his 6th 5 series estate he said the first 3 (HID) he would switch over as it was so simple, then apparently with the 4th it was a real faff so he never bothered the last two are LED and he has never had an issue and he does most of his mileage in the France Belgium Netherlands Germany and Poland Hope this Helps Dave

      Hi Asif Welcome to the Forum First check to find out where the smoke is coming from, once your sure then make a decision on whether you can (a) DIY or (b) pay a garage. If it is the Garage route then an Internet search for BMW Specialists (there is a Register of BMW Specialists) should bring up a couple at least who are not to far from you. Then talk to them about costs etc Good luck Dave

      650i VANOS failure

      Hi Tomy Welcome to the Forum When I rebuilt my E53 4.6is I rebuilt the Vanos system from memory the cost was around £65 for all seals and O rings which turned out to be Febi items So are the prices you have for a rebuild kit or a refurbed Vanos ? Dave

How do they compare in terms of durability, fitment, and noise after installation? Is the premium for Febi Bilstein worth it, or does Maxgear hold up fine in real-world use?

      BMW X1 valve cover gasket replacement

      Hi there all. I recently bought a bmw x1 xdrive 2014. There is smoke entering through the heater vents. Looking online ppl suggested replacing head cover and gasket. Has anyone done it? Is there anyone in Birmingham who can do it? Thank you
