Hello

New to the forum and new to BMW, despite living next door to a BMW dealer and having a Dad who worked for them.

I know nothing about BMW.

I have always driven 'S' Audis.

Now presented with the perennial problem of having to decide between expanding family and car.

What is the x5 like to drive and own?

We are looking at 30d, 35d, 40d, post 2007.

Sorts of questions coming up in my mind are:

Is there much difference between 35d and 40d if they were within a year of each other on same mileage, for example? Is the 40d worth the extra? It looks better...

Having test drive for all of 15 mins both 2011 30d and 40d (and about to have a go in a 35d) I can tell the difference between the two but would I regret not buying a 40d?

You know the sort of dilemma I am sure, made worse by the budget of around £25k-£30k.

If there any useful threads on the forum...
