Hi i own a 2004 645Ci Convertible that has an oil leak i've had it looked at and im told its coming from the timing chain covers. I have been told that it is a very expensive job by my local BMW specialists. I was wondering if there is anybody with the expertise on here that is not too far from Yorkshire who would be willing to fix it for me who has worked on them/done the job before?

Thanks

Rickie

Hi Rickie,

Alot of work involved. PRetty striaght forward but time consuming due to the amount that needs stripping down. Rad, Pullys, water pump, harmonic balancers, and maybe maybe maybe even the cylinder heads to get the case free from the block. Not a job to be taken lightly.

Honestly, it's not something i would advise doing by the roadside/outside ya house. That's an incredibly special car you have there and this is probably one of those jobs you want to pay out to get done properly.

Regards,
Daz

Thanks for the advice Daz! was just wondering if there were any specialists/people who have done the job before who have time to look at it. I understand it is a pretty complex job

If its from top end of engine then its the cam seals or casing gaskets ... I am in Barnsley !!
