Gauging Awareness To An Apparent Common Issue

OK, so for a while ive had a knocking noise coming from the rear of my E46 328i, went through all the normal procedures, replaced top mounts, trail arms + bushing etc etc etc, even went as far to almost get in some new drive shafts.... turns out the rear sub-frame has pulled 2 of its anchors out of the floor.

Apparently according to my mechanic its a common failure on a E46, Anyone else got more info on it?

Just forked out the shed load of cash required to repair should have her back in a few days, just want to know if anyone else knows of this failure or if its just my hard driving xD

cheers guys,

Steve.
