i just bought a 318 yesterday and when i drove it home i noticed that it is a bit wobbly on the front end. Besides returning it to where i bought it from which i cant do, anyone got any suggestions as to what the problem could be please? thanks Kev

Is it making any knocking noises over bumps, are the front tyres the same make, are the wheels balanced properly, do you get any whining noises when either wheel is under load during cornering. Are the wheels buckled anywhere, tyre pressures ok etc. Please define "wobbly" :)

thank you for replying, no its not making any noises, tyres are the same, sometimes when your driving it seems to pull to the right,, if you hit a pot hole accidently it pulls to that direction, husband seems to think that it could be the steering rack, if there are any groves in the road it jumps about all over the place. Also do you know the correct tyre pressure for Pirelli 225/45/17 tyres please . tyre itself says 51 psi but that seems excessive. (karen)

Hi,

It's an E£6 so no doubt the track-rod ends and the drop links are shot to pieces. Get them changed and whilst you are at it, change the anti-roll bar bushes. good idea to get it laser tracked after all this.

If after all this, it's still acting up start to investigate a possible failed steering rack

Change/Check in the following order;

- Drop links (About 20 quid)
- Track rod ends (about 40/50 quid)
- Anti-roll bar bushes (abour 15 quid)

- Steering rack

All the best,
Daz
