I recently purchased an e46 53 plate from a garage and it seemed not to be quite right so I took it to an independent bmw specialist <padock motors devon> and there results were

faulty driver seat tensioner -50 quid plus vat

alternator belt worn-56 quid plus vat

front wishbonerear mounts 135 quid plus vat

rear trailing armbushes worn 105 quid plus vat

rear diff bush split needs replacing no quote as yet

reasonable pricing or not?? thanks

I originally took it in because it appeared a bit flat compared to my 180k ,they said it performs as it should and there is no comparison to a 180k as all 320 models are a little flat!!!

    no m8 im just going to suck up the bill on this one im just glad to hear the auto box and engine are in good condition

    im in devon and the garage is in the midlands and it might get messy with times and travel
