My ABS light has come on also the handbrake warning light is on. This light has come on and gone off quite a few time , but this time it stays on. When I plugged in the fault code reader it came up with the error code of 5DF5. Control unit internal fault. Any ideas ? Does mean replacing the ABS unit. Is it expensive ?I am extremely reluctant to go near the BMW main dealer. My car is a 2002 E46 estate.

    My mates had the same a few years ago.,., it was the abs pump I think I'll find out a little more off him tomorrow I know it was very pricey and he just cleared the code and sold the car!!! His was a e46 320ci
