All was going well, had service done now getting 27-28mpg, then sod's law the drivers door refused open from outside, had the mrs open it from inside for me (central locking is working fine), mechanic friend of mine can't look until Monday, just got back from a drive and the car held me prisoner until I escaped from the passenger side. anybody know how I can get the door open? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Escape is by pulling the lever TWICE fully ;)

Break the drivers door window and pull the lever twice? Sorry, Darren, not helpful I know, and sorry your problems continue. Hope you get sorted soon, sounds like a seizing lock, I have the same problem up to a point on my 328, I sometimes have to unlock/lock my drivers door up to 3 times before the button comes up. A little dribble of WD40 eases things a bit.

Might be a worn or failed nylon link holding the actuator rod... Common on ALL cars ;)

Been away for a while, I managed to fix the door (properly) myself, hurt a lot but saved a fair bit of money
