I have a 1994 320i coupe and need to replace the ignition barrel is this possible without going to a BMW dealer

    Hi I think I have the same proplem as some of my instruments work when they feel like it, I went onto utupe and looked up e38 750i faults and the most common for this was the ignition switch, have a look on utupe and it show's you how to fit it, it's quite simple

    I bought one on eBay for £30 .

    You can change the barrel easy enough without going to dealers, just make sure you don't damage the ring around the barrel as that's apart of the immobiliser

    Can you turn the key in the barrel or not
