Hi Guys

I have an E46 318ci which for the most part runs fine, one thing I have noticed is that the reversing sensors on the car seem a bit temperamental. When I put the car in to reverse in most of the time beeps for about 5 seconds but the sensors only occasionally seems to enable. However when I have the roof down and put the car in reverse they always seem to work fine but not such if that's just coincidence to be honest. If anyone has any idea as to what might be the problem any help would be much appreciated as the sensors are pretty useless at the moment if I can't trust them :(

    Ummm I would think the roof being down and them functioning would be coincidence. Hmmm tricky one <_<

    I would advise you take it to an auto-electrician for him/her to check the circuit and any common areas where a short may occur

    Just to add... One "dodgy" sensor would throw the system out anyway !

    Hi guys,

    Thanks for the advice, turned out it was just one of the sensors that was faulty. managed to find a YouTube guide on identifying and changing it. Managed to source a second hand one from eBay to replace the faulty one for £15 so all working now :)
