Ok guys Ive had my car about a month now, Ive got the MOT coming up next week and I have got mismatched tyres.

Just looking for suggestions on what tyres will be ok for my E39, the size on my style 81's is 235/45/17 all round, im not looking to spend big bucks as I do 90% motorway miles but then again they can't be rubbish budget tyres that are dangerous.

All suggestions and personal opinions are welcome.

James

Are the tread limits ok on the tyres that are on now? And are they the same tread-width n profile on each axle? If yes to both then bob it through its MOT "as-is" and give yourself a little more time to replace them ;)

I'll double check the tread depth but I think they are all about 3.5-4mm any yes all 4 are 235/45/17

They'll pass ;)

Minimum is 1.5 i think

Thanks Jack, one less think to worry about for now although I don't think the mismatched tread pattern helps the brake judder lol

New front discs & pads are going on this week

It won't help but its not the cause ;)

just got four 225/45/17inch at Angels for a mere £300 squid. Falken the way to go! Why pay more they stick well and last, and survive my high speed runs.

Thanks but I think I'll endup going for Uniroyal Rainsports as ive tried Falken before on my Type R and they are good in the dry but not so good in the wet plus I live in Scotland where it rains more often than not.
