  2. Hi Dave, I've now spent some time checking out realoem.com and the lashing eyes on older active tourers and X1s seem to be identical. I think the variation in the front lashing eyes only seems to occur if a high (i.e. from the top of the rear seats to the roof) luggage net is used. So I'm going to order just 2 eyes and see if they will work. Your Part number does occur on various other models. I'll let you know if I'm successful, in due course. Once again thanks for the help.
  3. Hi Bob, I when I had my 2018 X1 Sport I was able to fit my adult eletric bike in the back, but I had to remove the front wheel. I understand the newer X1s are a smidgen larger, but I don't think the boot dimensions have increased significantly. Regarding the 1.5 3 pot engine, that's what powers my 220i Active Tourer sDrive (although it's a mild hybrid). During the last month I've covered some 500miles, at lot of which was motorway and dual carriageway, and my MPG (according to the on-board computer) is 49.2. Whilst your X1 is larger I'm lugging around a battery but getting the advantage of slight regen. The DVLC website has info regarding the roadtax you'll pay. My X1 was purely petrol and I did have a spare wheel. Provided you are not looking at a hybrid, then a spare wheel should be possible under the floor. I hope this helps Ian
  4. Hi Ian Shame it didn't help I think with BMW it has less to do with cost and far more to do with control. I am told that some of the newer models (such as yours) have to be connected to the Dealers diagnostics which in turn are linked to Munich even Dealers have to book a slot. It may be interesting when the USA market challenge "restricted access" it's almost undoubtable they will Good Luck with the hunt Dave
  5. Morning Dave Thanks so much for the helpful advice. I've searched that site - very useful. Unfortunately the position and type of the front mounting has changed since the F45 model. Why BMW structured their software search engines in this way surprises me. Yes if you use a specific VIN then you should get the part you require, but it doesn't cope with searches like mine. I suppose like all things it comes down to cost. A more universal search engine would require more complex programming and data management. Such is life. To be fair to the Main Dealers and BMW UK, they were all apologetic, and I think a little embarassed that the system wouldn't let them help me. Ian
  6. Morning Jack Welcome to the Forum Not good news and although you aren't seeing visible signs, low oil pressure will over time start to reduce oil feed to probably the upper parts of the engine. As your garage found evidence of chain guide wear/brake up it needs investigation. I would start with simple stuff Check/change the Oil Pressure switch just in case it is that simple. The next bit involves dropping the sump to check the Oil Pick up pipe (I have seen one with a split "O" ring seal that gave similar symptoms to yours (flickering oi light at tick over) If the sump is off clean it out and I would change the oil pump tensioner and guide. Hope this is helpful Dave
  7. Have shortlisted the X1 to replace my Mazda CX5. Seems to tick all the boxes but a few questions. Looking at the updated 23 model . Can you get a spare wheel for the X1 and can it be stowed away out of sight. What MPG can i realistically exxpect from the 1.5 s drive engine? Can you fit an adult bke in the back with seats down? What is the annual car tax on an X1 valued new at under £40k Thanks in anticipation. Lots of useful information on this forum. I
  8. Morning Ian Welcome to the Forum BMW had a Parts Number website and a Technical Information website which for folks like us and independent Garages was a great help as we could find correct part numbers and see what was involved in fitting them. Then in 2019 BMW decided to take down the Technical Information Site and make it Dealer access only the parts website they haven't taken down but the also haven't updated it since 2019 ??? Hey Ho Having said that www.realoem.com is still a massive help I just had a quick look (manual search) and have a part number 51477271174. You can check for yourself Google realoem then either try your Vin in the search box (may not be recognised as the site stops at 2019) or as I did search manually I used F45 Active tourer and searched the Trim section if you double click the Part number you will see a list of other models that it fits or you could use. Then as BMW have been so helpful ?? Look for the best price, don't ignore the local Dealer they are sometimes competitive on price I hope this helps Dave

  10. Hello everyone, Recently changed my X1 xDrive 2.0 Sport for an Active Tourer 220i M Sport, which unfortunately has no luggage Lashing Eyes. I think they may be fitted to the Luxury Trim version. My X1 did have them. When I approached BMW UK, they informed me that to look up the appropriate Part Numbers for ordering (so I can have them retrofitted) they need a VIN. When I supplied my VIN, that didn't work because on my model, the parts weren't factory fitted. There are holes in the boot trim and bodywork, in the correct places, but they are currently filled with plastic blanking inserts. Anyone out there any suggestions , or if you've got them fitted on your model, could you email me your VIN so I could use it in attempt to source the part numbers. If you're worried about disclosing your VIN, don't be, remember its visible through your windscreen whenever you park your car. If you can help it'll be much appreciated.
  11. I have a 2010 320i Sport Automatic. 60k miles. In heavy slow moving traffic I get the low oil pressure warning light. It doesn’t happen on the motorway. The car drives perfectly. I’ve had it in at my trusted independent garage and they changed oil and filter. They found remnants of the chain guide etc but the problem has returned within a few hundred miles of driving. Because the car doesn’t go into Limp mode and drives as intended, my instinct is that it’s not causing any engine damage but it’s definitely spoiling my enjoyment of the car. I wish I could find out why it happens. Any ideas?

  13. Morning Sam Welcome to the Forum From what I have read the warranty extension on the part is because replacement parts deliveries are so restricted, delayed. I guess BMW have to consider manufacture of cars as well as recall/replacement of faulted parts All a bit of a mess really and poor communication doesn't improve things maybe Angela Ripon's show can help Good Luck Dave
  14. Morning Connah If they are listed in www.realoem.com then you should be able to get them. If not then it is a search of the after market I don't remember seeing them separate (doesn't mean they are not out there) Good Hunting Dave
  15. Can anyone explain why BMW are extending the warranty for 15 years on this part. They will not reply if they are manufacturering the part or when part will be available. Why 15 years Warranty? Car was recalled 2019. Trying Goverment Ombudsman for answers.
  16. I couldn't agree more just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Laptops are a prime example, give me than two sodding ports!! I don't live in that dreamland where everything works flawlessly over WiFi, I'm barely on dial up speeds here! Also what is with that dreadful piano black trim? Scratches the instant you look at it, and in my opinion I think it will date really badly. All new cars seem to have it, especally the EV's. Is it cheap to produce? Still trying to learn how to use the reverse camera😁... and failing!
  17. Hi, Yes. The BMW decoder worked well. I do indeed have a G21. I'm off to Dorset soon, so really looking forward to giving it a good run. 18. Morning Paul A wheel bearing normally protests under load when driving (groaning rumbling worse when cornering) CV Joint clicking sound, have you checked the condition of the CV Boots ? As an X5 pilot what condition are the tyres ? Have any or all been changed recently ? If the tyres (even 1) are out of spec Transfer case damage or diff damage can be caused (gives similar symptoms to those you seem to have Dave
  19. So Richard Did your issue get resolved ?? Dave
  20. I noticed that when i put my x5 in full lock, lets say towards the left and i drive it makes a clunking judder sound. When i straighten up that sound is no longer there. Can anyone tell me how can i check to see if it is the front drive bearing or the CV joint bearing? Thank you Car spec. X5 E53, 54 plate
  21. Hi I want to retrofit m buttons on my steering wheel on my 2012 320d, is this possible as I can't find much online about it and how would I do it. Thanks
  22. Morning Connah Welcome to the Forum Not sure what you are trying to achieve here ? If your OEM steering wheel has paddle shifts it should be fairly straight forward swap even though the replacement will probably be Aftermarket. Just make sure you can get support from the seller and they accept returns if it didn't fit If you don't have paddle shifts there is the small issue of how you can get the shift to work, it will involve loom extensions and programming at least. If you just want the competition look and are not worried about the operation then it becomes easier Good Luck Dave
  23. Morning Shawn Other than checking www.realoem.com and the Internet for help, it's not a job I have done but that would be my starting point. Perseverance, patience and practice may help as well 😅 plastic clips are easy to break if they are not spot on with alignment. I buy spares before starting any job that involves taking trim off, try trial fitting the clips off the car gives an idea of alignment and pressure needed I have used a little Washing up liquid as lubricant Good Luck Dave
  24. I removed the driver’s side a-pillar in my 2013 320i to make sure the sunroof drainage tubes weren’t leaking behind them. As easy as they are to get off, what a pain to put back on. I ordered new plastic retainers because both broke. Does anyone have any pointers for getting it back on? I fought with it for an hour with no luck whatsoever.
  25. Hi Does anyone know where I can get a steering wheel replacement with a flat bottom and paddle shifters for a 2012 320d I have found a few but not too sure whether they'd be compatible any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  26. Yay glad it's sorted Donna just needed the right Tool on the job 🤣 (Been there a few times) Dave
  27. All sorted now, hubby figured out that the pumps were around the wrong way. 🤣 He insists that it wasn't him. Thank you so much for your help.

  29. I'm selling my private personalised registration number plate P24 BMW. Ideal for any BMW but particularly the Z4 I think as the 24 looks just like Z4. The registration is on a retention certificate. It's being advertised on plates4less if you wish to buy it from them or if you prefer you can save some money and buy it direct from me for £1160
