Winter Wheels
For winter wheels, a square arrangement is quite acceptable and frequently superior for winter grip; you don't have to keep staggered. Depending on brake clearance, most people switch to 17" or stick with 18", but 17s with the right winter tires typically ride better and are less expensive. Just make sure that everything is cleared by the widths and offsets.

Alloys cracking - best replacement wheels and tyres
Morning I believe 19" were an alternate which should allow a deeper sidewall Good Luck Dave

DPF Cleaning fluid
Morning Andrew First check for any air leaks between the Air Filter and the inlet manifold in case some thing has been disturbed (hose or Vac line) Check realoem for sensor locations Good luck Dave

Coolant temperature sensor location
Morning Carl I have never worked on one of the 3 cylinder engines but logically I would expect the Temp Sensor to be close to the Thermostat either on it's own housing or the water pump, some BMW models actually had 2 sensors one on the Thermostat housing the other on the lower Radiator hose If you get stuck I will fire up ISTA and see if there is any help in Workshop Information (WIS) Good luck Dave

Sorry - the wheels are the standard 20-inch the car comes with.

Alloys cracking - best replacement wheels and tyres
It’s the rims that crack. You only find out when changing a tyre or checking why your are loosing pressure. I didn’t have a problem with my grand tourer. I changed to the coupe which I think runs on lower profile tyres. Will look at alternatives.

Hi, I have now replaced the thermostats and the car is now running at around 90 degrees but I am now getting a fault code P0112 saying there is a fault with the air intake sensor? First of all where is it and can i clean it ? thanks Paneuro.

Engine misfire
Hi, I have now renewed the main thermostat and the EGR thermostat and the car is running at the proper temperature. My son in law gave me a basic scan tool and it is telling me that there is a problem with an AIR INTAKE SENSOR code P0112, can anybody give me an idea where this sensor is on the intake system and is it electrically operated or vacuum please. thanks Paneuro.

Panoramic roof seals
Anyone have thoughts on the attached photo showing the drivers side panoramic roof seal. Are these easy to replace and is this just an expected deterioration on a 2018 X340i

Alloys cracking - best replacement wheels and tyres
Hi Steve Welcome to the Forum Not good what size wheels are you running and is the cracking spokes or rim ? Your not alone with pot holed roads Sunny Sussex isn't any better Maybe as suggested a set of 19" wheels with deeper sidewall tyres may give a bit of cushioning Dave

Alloys cracking - best replacement wheels and tyres
being a dorset chap myself, i can say the roads are dreadful. Especially in Bournemouth!!! Got a 4x4 to handle it with and will install big spotlights so i can see in the very poorly lit roads. Is it me, or these new LED street lights along with high intensity car lights just really hard to drive at night? Steve, maybe look at winter wheels! then they can get mucky, bashed and keep the summer ones for cruising. :)

Alloys cracking - best replacement wheels and tyres
I have had three alloys crack and have been told by BMW it’s the British Roads. No obvious incidents. Although, I do live in rural Dorset. It appears to be a mix of the low profile tyres, roads, some old man driving and not the greatest alloys. Has anyone else had a similar experience and is it worth changing the alloys and tyre profiles? Thanks, Steve.

2015 X3 Headlight Replacement
Hi Kumar Welcome to the Forum I am assuming you mean the Lamp (Bulb) first you need to establish if your Lighting is Halogen bulbs, HID/Xenon or LED all were available for your model year. Take a look at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box and it will bring up your Model then search Lights I know from experience that some models need wheel arch liners removing to access lamp changes which would mean a hefty labour charge from a Dealer (most in my area are £200+ an hour) then the cost of the actual lamp Osram or Philips HID D1 lamps can be brought for around £60 (I would expect a Dealer to double that) so cost of a lamp change at a dealer I guess at £300 to £500 + If they are LED I have never changed one but would guess at similar prices It isn't difficult just fiddly so I would look for online videos as guidance and DIY or try your local friendly Independent Garage Hope this Helps Dave

2015 X3 Headlight Replacement
Hi, I need to replace Driver-side headlight (not the module but actual headlight ) on my 2015 BMW X3 , seems it costs a fortune at authorised service centre, just wondering if there is any alternative solution to get it done at a reasonable cost ? Thanks, AK

Mobile Phone Connection
My Fold 7 usually connects straight away when I get in, however every now and then I have to select android auto on the idrive to get it to connect. It may do this because I open the car to put dog in then go back in house with phone in pocket and it drops connection, yet other times I do it and it re-connects straight away. Does your work phone have a higher profile order than the personal one? With regards to digital key, do you need/have BMW digital key set up card? Video here Found this: Creating Driver Profile A driver profile is created or via iDrive: 1. "CAR". 2. "Driver profiles". 3. Move the Controller to the right. As an alternative for Steps 1 to 3, the profile image can be tapped in the top status bar. 4. "Add driver profile". ConnectedDrive countries: An existing ConnectedDrive account must be assigned to a driver profile. If a ConnectedDrive account has not yet been created, the account can be created via a smartphone. A QR code will be displayed on the Control Display for this purpose. The creation of the driver profile can continue with the access data of the created ConnectedDrive account. Selecting recognition The settings for the recognition are entered via iDrive: 1. "CAR" 2. "Driver profiles" 3. Move the Controller to the right. As an alternative for Steps 1 to 3, the profile image can be tapped in the top status bar. 4. "Driver recognition" 5. Select the desired setting: "with vehicle key". The vehicle key that is recognized in the car's interior is assigned to the driver profile. If multiple vehicle keys are detected, the unintended vehicle keys must be removed from the car's interior. "With Digital Key". The digital key that is recognized in the car's interior is assigned to the driver profile. If multiple digital keys are detected, the unintended digital keys must be removed from the car's interior. 6. "Activate linkage" As soon as the vehicle detects the vehicle key or the digital key, the corresponding driver profile will be activated. If the vehicle key or the smartphone with the digital key is not carried with you or the vehicle key or digital key is not recognized, the driver profile can only be selected on the Welcome screen when a PIN has been set up. Setting up a PIN A driver profile with recognition cannot be activated without vehicle key and without digital key. In this case, a PIN can be set up to activate the driver profile.
