  1. Don't do it...................previous owner did it to my convertible, lexus style lights at the back too. Look's stupid! Totally ruins the look of the car.............my opinion though.
  2. Was his name R. Sole? If not it should have been because he's full of s***!
  3. No idea. My convertible has NO passenger door keyhole, would've thought yours would be the same. Could be some grease needed, fuses, relays or mechanism may be kaput...
  4. Tried to scrub mine but only slight improvement, have to spend on cleaning products....but which one's?
  5. Fuses or relays may be the cause, or the roof's computer/motor. Maybe some WD40? I put mine up and down manually and it's quicker anyway.....not quite as glamourous though.
  6. Just joined myself, so welcome to you. I have a convertible too ( E36 ), like you, I'm going to need some help or advice to get the old girl in tip top shape but, at almost 19 years old, the old girl still has what it takes.
  7. I'm in Somerset so South West meet would be good. Cheddar Gorge maybe?
  8. Hello everyone. Just bought an E36 318i convertible. It needs lots of TLC as the previous owner was Dewhurst's (well, they did a !Removed! good job of butchering it!! ). It's a '95 model (N), 171k on the clock. Engine is as sweet as a nut, drives as it should and looks amazing in it's Madeira Violet paintwork ( which, I am led to believe, makes it one of only 2,994 E36's in the UK in this colour???). Not sure about that but lovely colour anyway. Need's new, or good repair/refurb for hood and hood motor, leather and the front and rear lights are a total nightmare. I must point out that I am a died in the wool Jaguar lover and NOTHING will change that. I was not a fan of BMW's, having had a 735i many moon's ago, that was a complete pain......BUT!! Less than a week with the convertible and I have been smitten! The car is FAR TOO GOOD, condition-wise, to scrap or run into the ground. It's well worth saving and that I hope to be able to do. However, I think it will be an expensive undertaking and would appreciate any help, advice and saved costs, where possible.
  9. Hello. Just bought a 1995 E36 318i convertible in Madeira Violet. Need's some tlc so been looking ( good old Google! ) for a BMW club for help and advice as I'm going to need it.....
